Hitavad Nagpur

The Hitavada is the largest selling first daily English newspaper in Central India. The central India leading newspaper has publication from the cities of Nagpur, Jabalpur, Raipur, and Bhopal. The daily newspaper was started by the freedom fighter Gopal Krishna Gokhlae in 1911. After its foundation in Nagpur city, the newspaper was taken over in 1978 by Banwarilal Purohit the former BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) MP from Nagpur and company.

In 2011, the newspaper completed its 100 years and the festive occasion was inaugurated by the then President of India, Mrs. Pratibha Patil. In the meantime of its 100 year, the daily newspaper faced several competitions, but always maintained it position as the leading brand in print media in Central India.  In the mid of 20th century with the arrival of daily newspaper Nagpur Times, Hitavada faced competition in market, but later on the newspaper Nagpur Times shuts down due to bankruptcy. While still there are several competitor in market like Indian Express, The Times of India, and Lokmat Times in Nagpur, with Hindustan Times and Central Chronicle in Bhopal and Raipur. Across Central India daily 200000 copies sold while Nagpur makes 130000 copies alone.

The Newspaper consists of a special supplementary section for local city news which comes with the name of ‘City Line'. City Line delivers all latest and most popular local news from the city. Some of the regional editions of Hitavada are published from three distinct regional lines are: Vidharbha Line, the newspaper is distributed outside Nagpur and rest of Vidharba region, Chattisgarh Line, distributed in Chattisgarh; and Madhya Pradesh Line, distributed in surrounding region of Jabalpur and Bhopal.

While other weekly supplements are also published with the daily edition these special sections include Money for Mondays, Future for Tuesdays, Woman's World for Wednesdays, Twinkle Star for Saturdays, Insight for Sundays.  Each of the special editions come with some interesting facts and stories of real life. Ranging from Bollywood gossips to political dramas, news from each and every section of the society are published with the daily newspaper.

Another supplementary section especially for school children are also published with the name of ‘The Knowledge Magazine' which is distributed in schools for children.

The leading broadsheet English Newspapaer has successfully completed its century in print media and has gained customers appreciation in Central India. With maximum circulation in Nagpur the HITAVAD has proved its potential and importance in news industry. Along with Nagpur, the HITAVADA has set benchmarks in other cities like Bhopal, Raipur and Jabalpur.

The online portal of the newspaper with the name of ehitavada has also been started to enhance its presence globally.
