Mohpa used to be a small Panchayet village and post 1955 it was incorporated within a municipality area. Situated on a stream of Chandrabhaga River, Mohpa is located at a distance of 34 kilometres from Nagpur at an altitude of 351 metres. It is quite easy to travel to Mohpa from Nagpur via several routes and the time covered to reach Mohpa from Nagpur is around 1 hour. Mohpa is circulated by cities like Kamthi, Umred and Pauni on its borders. Marathi is the local dialect spoken in Mohpa.

There are several travel routes to reach Mohpa from Nagpur City. Mohpa’s pin code is zero indicating the zero mile marker lying in the centre of India. The distance traveled between Mohpa and Nagpur is approximately 37 kilometres and a traveller can reach Mohpa by bus, train or by personal car or hired cabs. In order to travel to Mohpa, a traveller can board a train from Umred Railway Station or Bamhani Railway Station or from Ajni Railway Station which are very close to Nagpur. A traveller can also board a bus from Nagpur or Umred and reach Mohpa in an hour’s time. Local buses ply on this route daily. Mohpa might not score a perfect 100 in tourist destinations, but there might be some neighbouring places for tourists.

Things to do in Mohpa

Futala Lake in Nagpur is an artificial lake created by the Bhonsle kings, with coloured fountains splashing water and Tonga rides in the evening when the place is brightly lit with halogens. With surrounding forests on all sides and a Chowpatty, Futala Lake is an ideal picnic destination on weekends. Shri Balaji Temple atop Seminary Hills in Nagpur will be an ideal spiritual hub free from the cacophony of the town. The temple houses the idols of Lord Balaji and Lord Karthikeya. Besides, the other hotspots to visit may be Ambazari Lake, Kasturchand Park, Telengkhedi Shiv Temple, and Shukrawari Lake to add to the list.

Since Mohpa is an hour’s distance from Nagpur, it can be visited during daytime and back by evening. Conveyance cost is negligible over here. There are accommodations available in and around Nagpur City. In short, a short trip to Mohpa will be great retreat while on a visit to Nagpur City.
