Trip to Bhugaon

Visiting common places or places well known as tourist spots sometimes seem less interesting as tourism is so much promoted on TV and travel sites nowadays, that a person can simply watch these mediums to be accustomed with the place even before visiting it. This leads to a loss of excitement and thrill while visiting the actual place. But, visiting a place which is not so popular on the tourist sites yet holds a lot of adventurous spots for sightseeing will be indeed a surprise package. Bhugaon, for example is one such place which has still not earned a place under the limelight of tourist spots.

Bhugaon which is located on the fringes of Pune can indeed be an ideal vacationing and picnic spot for travellers. Similarly, Bhugaon can be accessed from Nagpur as well. It is situated at a distance of 185 kilometres from Nagpur which will be a two and half hours drive. Bhugaon can be visited while taking a detour from Pune and it is a small village located in Mulshi Taluka in Pune district or what is commonly called Desh or Paschim Maharashtra. Surrounded by four talukas on each side, i.e. Pimpri- Chinchwad, Mulshi Taluka, Talegaon Dabhade and Haveli Taluka, Bhugaon is a fast developing tourist spot still unexplored by many a visitor. The local dialect spoken in Bhugaon is Marathi and it is located quite close to Chandni Chowk from NDA Pune.

Bhugaon is undergoing a makeover, transitioning into a developed city with planned townships, industrial belts, tourist spots, resorts. Bhugaon derived its name from Bhubaneswar which is another pseudonym for Lord Shiva and the Shambhu Mahadev Mandir is quite renowned place to visit. Other places to visit in Bhugaon will be Khandoba Devasthan Temple, Padmavati Devi Temple, Navnath Mandir, Tukai Devi Temple at Shedge Dara, Sitala Devi Mandir. These are all historical spots with religious inclination. Visit to Shambhu Mahadev Mandir is a recommended on the visiting list as the temple dates back 300 years.

Manas Lake is a renowned tourist hub developing in Bhugaon, Pune amidst the lush greenery and calm ambience. Adjacent to the magnificent lake, there is an amusement park and resort to entertain visitors and travellers who visit Bhugaon.  Manas Lake is an ideal picnic destination among the local residents and others in neighbouring cities and Taluka. Resorts and hotels are scattered across Bhugaon with the likes of Sarovar Hotel, Garwal Hotel situated adjacent to Manas Lake, Manas restaurant, Daulat Hotel. Konkan food is a speciality in Bhugaon and is served in every restaurant and hotel in the vicinity. Development is transforming this quite, serene village into a cosmopolitan hub where residential complexes are coming up.

How to reach Bhugaon
There is no railway station in Bhugaon and visitors will either have to arrive at either of these neighbouring railway stations which are Pimpri Chinchwad, Khandala and Lonavla and Shivajinagar railway station. Or visiting by road or in a bus via Pune from all neighbouring destinations will be a good idea. Nagpur which is quite close to Pune will be a good stopover en route Bhugaon. A visit to this new unexplored territory will be great for travellers who are on the lookout for some lesser known travel destinations.
