Located at a distance of 15 km from Nagpur, Koradi comes under the Korpana tahsil in the Chandrapur district. It is popular for its Thermal Power Station which is one among the four main power plants in Vidarbha. It became operational in the year 1974 and is being operated by Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MahaGenco) which is a subsidiary of the Maharashtra Government. 7 units are operated by the Koradi Thermal Power Station and its total power generation capacity is 1080 MW.
Koradi Training Center is also located in the Thermal Power Station. Middle and senior level engineers and other staff members of the Maharashtra State Power Generation Co. Ltd. are trained here. The training center has an experienced set of trainers and all the modern facilities to ensure that the staff at MSPGCL understands the power sector techniques thoroughly. Besides a great infrastructure, the training center also boosts of a good surrounding. There is a small pond near the training center that is surrounded with lush green trees nurtured cautiously over the years.
